Dr. Hsieh is originally from Taiwan where he attended, National Taiwan University College of Medicine. He completed the internal medicine residency and gastroenterology fellowship at the world-renowned National Taiwan University Hospital. He moved to the United States in 2006 and continued his training at the prestigious Mayo Clinic in Arizona for transplant hepatology and gastroenterology.
Dr. Hsieh is a member of the American Gastroenterological Association (AGA), American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE), American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases (AASLD), and Gastroenterological Society of Taiwan. He is a manuscript reviewer of ACG Case Reports Journal and BMJ Case Reports. Dr. Hsieh has received several grants and awards, including USJMSCP-NIH-APASL Joint Symposium Young Investigator Award and Mayo Clinic Bronze Quality Fellow. He is board certified in gastroenterology both in the USA and in Taiwan.
Dr. Hsieh is an established and highly skilled physician with over twenty years of experience in gastroenterology, hepatology and various endoscopic procedures, with more than 20,000 procedures performed over his career. With several providers and office staff fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese, Dr. Hsieh and his practice are well in tune with the local Asian community. Dr. Hsieh has a clinical interest in liver disease including viral hepatitis B and C, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), liver cirrhosis, and pre- and post-liver transplant care. Additionally, he enjoys the practice of diagnosing and treating Helicobacter pylori infection, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), Barrett's esophagus, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), constipation, hemorrhoids, defecation issues, inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) and colon cancer screening and prevention.
Dr. Hsieh's passion is driven by the bonds he builds with his patients over the course of their lives and the enjoyment he holds in keeping them healthy and well. "I trust that you have honestly shared your history with me, from your daily digestive symptoms to the most personal concerns, to allow me to create the best possible treatment plan. My goal is to provide you with the greatest opportunity for health and healing."
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his two sons, weight training, travel, photography, Jazz, fine art, motorcycle, tennis, swimming and scuba diving. He is a PADI-certified rescue scuba diver.
